Training and Development         

W. Monks is dedicated to the continued training of staff. We aim to ensure that  the company’s  high standards in construction are achieved. That’s why we invest heavily in staff training.

In the past year alone, five members of staff have successfully completed the SMTS training programme – a nationally recognised site managers health and safety qualification. We are committed to continuing this success in the coming years.

CSCS Gold Standard Status

The Company has achieved the Gold Standard under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and are committed to ensure the workforce are competent in health and safety matters and hold CSCS Cards.

In addition, we have  an ongoing training programme for all staff to ensure safe systems of work are achieved at all times. Staff have been trained in aluminium scaffold erection and asbestos awareness in the past year and the Company is looking to continue this training programme in the future.

W Monks actively encourages young people to train for the Construction Industry. We offer apprenticeships in construction skills including bricklaying, joinery, plastering and electrical work.

Investing in young people is our priority. Continued staff development will help in the Company’s planned expansion. Our staff development programme will also ensure that we are able to meet  current and future market challenges.

We are current and founder members of the Preston Construction Safety Association and has been involved since the Groups’ inception in the late 1960`s demonstrating the Company’s commitment to the health and safety of all its employees and clients as well as the general public.

The Company is an Investor in People having following receipt of the award in 2009.
